On January 9, 2025, the United States will observe a National Day of Mourning to honor former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29 at the age of 100. In recognition of this solemn occasion, there will be adjustments to trading schedules that traders must pay attention to.
U.S. Equity Markets:
- Opening Time: Normal trading hours, beginning at 5:00 PM CT on January 8.
- Closing Time: Early close at 8:30 AM CT on January 9.
Interest Rates and Agricultural Markets
- Opening Time: Normal trading hours.
- Closing Time: Early close at 12:15 PM CT on January 9.
Metals, Energy, and FX Markets:
- Opening Time: Normal trading hours.
- Closing Time: Regular closing times (no changes).
All products trading on CME Globex will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on January 9 for the trade date of January 10.
Major U.S. stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq, will be closed on January 9 in observance of the National Day of Mourning. Click the link below for more details:
